#GotTalentWorldStage - Entertainment or Inspiration?

December 6th would have been another ordinary day for me. Until a week ago I hadn’t got a clue on what was going to happen. Just a day before, I got the passes for an event, which changed my perception about a lot of things… It was Got Talent World Live, hosted by a man who has not only gained my affection but my respect too. It was just that till I went to the show that day, a show I was going to, to just look at my biggest celebrity crush (sometimes, crush seems to be a very small word for what I feel), I didn’t realize what I was in for.

When I got passes to the live show, I was beyond excited, I was elated; I was going to see Shah Rukh Khan!! From the moment I got them, all I could think about was realizing that my dream was going to come true soon. I was sure that many people will end up coming to the show for him. And there was the added bonus of performances by Priyanka Chopra, Varun Dhawan and other Bollywood stars. What me, and may be a lot of others who came there didn’t realize; It was not just about the stars, it was about talent that was in bouts in these young professionals who performed on stage that night.

These were individuals who fought against all odds; who probably heard, “this won’t pay for your food, do something more worthwhile with your life” or “don’t waste your time playing children’s games”. Every other day, we decide to do something and most probably, a small obstacle comes in front of us and we take another route, a route well-tested and tried by many. The reason they deserved a show about them- a show about their talent, is this: they went beyond themselves and became larger than life.

What can we learn from all the performers of Got Talent as well as Shah Rukh, Priyanka and other stars that day? What hit me that night was that all these people were just human beings like you and me who dreamt big. Who struggled and crossed obstacles thrown into their paths. What I took home with me that night was that these people took their destiny into their hands; they played with fate to favour what they wanted and no, it wasn’t easy but they did it anyway. They are stories of inspiration, not just entertainment. They were motivated passionate people who could showcase their talent on the stage the World has given them.

And I was honoured to be a part of that show. Thank you.

P.S: I love Shah Rukh Khan, and would love a chance to meet him. His dimpled smile, his spontaneity, his charm has made many girls like me swoon all over him. And when I did see him live for the first time in my life, my heartbeat increased when I heard that voice that I knew so well.. It felt like he was talking to me; I respect you sir, and would love to meet you one fine day!

Glad that you have witnessed the Galaxy of Celebrities. These people do not just think, they imagine , feel and become their own future. I am just reading a book on the power of subconscious. What you have learnt could be a live example for the hypothesis put forward by the author. One can become what s/he wisesh for. Nicely expressed by you.-Dad
