Who is this girl?

She looks like just any other girl on the street,
Talking to her is like talking to any girl next door,
One glance at her, you know she is nothing special,
Glasses on her nose, book in her hands, headphones in her ears,
Tapping her feet away, eyes darting across every line in the book,
A smile occasionally,
Looking at her, I speculate, who is she exactly?

She is someone just like you,
She wants to make a difference to the world around her but doesn’t know how,
She is passionate about her work, yet feels helpless once in a while,
She loves travelling the world,
She is afraid of making a mistake,
She is scared of standing in front of the crowd with all eyes on her,
She is terrified of losing someone dear,
She loves the company of dogs and little kids around her, for the unconditional love they shower,
She misses her family very dearly,
She laughs with her friends,
She is waiting for her life to change,
She is still trying to figure out the reason for her existence,

I see her smile again,
With her bunny teeth and high cheekbones,
The smile reaching her crinkling eyes this time, startling herself at the light within,
The happiness overwhelms her,
She looks deep into my eyes, asking me if I knew who she was..

Sometimes, I feel like I know her and sometimes, I am not really sure..
